Moscow
Moscow is Russian heart, its capital, business-, scientific-, cultural and touristic center. It is first mentioned in chronicles in 1147. Suzdal dutch Yury Dolgoruky founded the city. Advantageous geographical location on the crossing of important trade routs, between Oka and Volga rivers, promoted impetuous city development, that is now the largest Russian city.
Thanks to many local and foreign gifted architects Moscow is one the most beautiful cities in the world. Its look is inseparable from the Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil`s Cathedral fabulous domes, reconstructed Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Novodevichy, Donskoy, Danilov Monasteries, palace and park ensembles Kolomenskoe, Kuskovo, Ostankino, as well as Sparrow Hills and Poklonnaya Hill.
There are more than 70 theatres in the Russian capital (Bolshoy Theatre is the most famous), numerous works of art are collected in a hundred museums, the most important of them are Tretyakov Gallery, Pushkin Museum. Moscow is a business-center, where important congresses, forums, festivals, industry exhibitions and fairies take place. Moscow International Film Festival and International Touristic Exhibition MITT are hold there.
